Hechtel-Eksel has lots to offer. Firstly the historic sights. You can still recognize the history of Hechtel-Eksel by looking at the windmill, the magnificent 'Teutenhuizen' (ancient merchant houses) of the 18th and 19th century, the late gothic St-Trudo church, the liberation monument, ... .
Then there is the incredible beauty of heathlands, forests, dunes and valleys. In the national forest “Bosland”, the dunes area “In den Brand” and around the "Begijnenvijvers" (lakes) there are mapped trails. Through the marked (2000 km) bicycle network of Limburg you will discover the most beautiful spots of Hechtel-Eksel.
